Paula Badosa is a fun-loving player and it’s not a hidden secret. Whenever she gets an inch of space away from tennis, the Spanish WTA pro doesn’t shy away from displaying her glamorous and playful side. And, it seems like the ongoing World Tennis League in Abu Dhabi has turned into a perfect opportunity for her to showcase that. It’s evident from a social media update shared by the 2024 US Open quarterfinalist!
For the unversed, Paula is a part of the team HonorFX Eagles in the third season of the World Tennis League. Along with her, Iga Swiatek, Alexander Shevchenko, and Badosa’s boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas are also representing the Eagles. While the action is in full flow, Paula’s fun side is there on display as well. Ahead of her match against Falcons Elena Rybakina and Caroline Garcia, Paula was seen showcasing her dance moves. The WTA pro shared a string of stories on her Instagram, dated December 21, giving fans a glimpse of her amazing skills.
The clips were originally recorded by Paula’s sister Jana Badosa. The latter is also present in Abu Dhabi to cheer for her sister. In the initial stories from Paula, the two were seen sharing candid moments. Jana couldn’t contain her excitement seeing Paula grooving. One story showed the Spanish player dancing on Akon’s chart-topping ‘It’s a Beautiful Day’. “Best warm up”, Badosa wrote in the caption while expressing her joy. Interestingly, Akon was also seen performing in the video. He was there at the event to perform at the live concert on day 2 of the ongoing WTL.

There was another clip in which Paula could be seen dancing to Enrique Iglesias’s evergreen ‘Bailando’. She showed her moves to BF Tsitsipas during a break amid his doubles match. Tsitsipas, at that stage, was playing the doubles with Alexander Shevchenko against Falcons’ Andrey Rublev and Denis Shapovalov. And guess what? Their pair won the encounter 6-4, giving a much-needed lead to the Eagles. Their victory proved crucial after Iga and Paula’s dominance in the women’s doubles encounter.
Paula Badosa and Iga Swiatek thrash Elena Rybakina and Caroline Garcia in World Tennis League
When the Eagles’ campaign began Iga managed to win her singles battle against Falcons’ Rybakina. She beat the Kazakh and former World No.3 with a scoreline of 6-3. But she didn’t stop there! Her partnership with Paula Badosa led Eagles to its second win against Rybakina and Garica in the women’s doubles fixture. On Saturday, Swiatek and Badosa proved too much for Rybakina and Garcia and took the match 6-2.

After Iga and Paula’s win, Tsitsipas and Shevchenko’s doubles win gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead over the Falcons, which was enough to hand the Eagles a thumping win overall. Falcons’ Rublev, however, did manage to earn some respect for his team. He beat Stefanos in the last singles match 6-1. Speaking of the final score, Badosa’s team won the tie against Falcons 20-15.
When it comes to the standings, the Falcons are still on the top of the table with 64 points. However, the Eagles have now reached the second spot with 54 points.
