Paula Badosa claps back at nosy fan—Is she right to defend her privacy so fiercely?

“It was hard for us being apart,” Stefanos Tsitsipas admitted just days after his sweetheart Paula Badosa announced their split. Although the couple made headlines for their short-timed break-up and eventually decided to be back again, controversy doesn’t seem to leave them alone. A video of the adorable couple recently made its way on social media. As it received a response that the WTA star wasn’t comfortable with, Badosa lashed out at the fan for judging her personal space.

Recently, Tennis TV’s official X handle shared a post in which Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa were seen working out together. The workout session was slightly intimate, as the couple was seen exchanging a conversation while holding hands. “Couples that stretch together, stay together,” the Tennis TV’s caption said, exposing a clip that showed a glimpse of the star couple’s adorable moments. With a massive count of 675 thousand followers, the post received attention from several fans.

Among a blend of responses, a fan reminded everyone of the couple’s recent split as he wrote, “When they got back together they said ‘I mean, it’s our private life. I think one of the things that we didn’t like is that it was very public, so now we want to keep it to ourselves.’ So why don’t they,” to which, the WTA star decided to respond. “Unfortunately we didn’t know there were cameras there,” Badosa wrote, making it clear that she wasn’t aware she was being recorded.

The comment section was flooded with numerous comments that not only judged the couple over that clip but also said words that were enough to hurt Badosa. “I just finished my match, nobody was in the gym, we were just stretching and chatting after my win. So please, before all this judgment and talking inform yourselves and chill a bit. Thanks,” she added, presenting a bold clarification.

“After two, three weeks I realized that she is a person who has supported me a lot and when she tried to talk to me about meeting I felt how intense the love we have for each other is. I realized that this relationship I have with Paula is completely different from any other relationship I have had in the past,” the ATP star said, clarifying the reason behind their patch-up.

As Badosa stepped forward with a response to the ones who passed comments on the video, it showed that she was concerned about the couple’s social image. However, this wasn’t the first time when the fans passed not-so-pleasant comments about the couple.

Tsitsipas receives backlash as he refers to Paula Badosa as a “Hippo”

Stefanos Tsitsipas was exposed to a series of despising comments on social media after making a joke about his girlfriend, Paula Badosa. During their trip to Monaco, the Greek tennis player, posted several videos on his Instagram Story where he called Badosa a “hippo” because she was hungry. Tsitsipas said, “Paula is hungry as always, that’s why I started calling her hippo,” just to tease her in a friendly manner. He added that he made Badosa carry her suitcase up a hill to help her “become fitter” and joked that their walk around Monaco was part of his strategy for her fitness.

When they finally reached a restaurant, Badosa, exhausted, said, “I’m having the entire menu. I’m sweating, I’m so tired, I’m starving.” Tsitsipas decided to extend this chapter of their socially exposed relationship with another comment that said, “You can eat as much as you want. I’m telling you this as there is plenty of walking after.” The Greek continued to tease her, saying, “Your name means small and humble, but you are none of those.”

While Badosa didn’t seem to get upset, many people found the comments offensive and voiced their discomfort online. Gathering around in a discussion, the fans regarded Tsitsipas’ series of comments as “deeply uncomfortable”. Although the couple wasn’t bothered by that incident, Badosa couldn’t stop herself from making her point over the recent viral clip.
