Mouratoglou has regarded Novak Djokovic, as the best returner of serve he has ever seen. He has also admired his body shape and balance along with the Serb’s incredible grip. A tennis grip means how you hold the racquet and where you place your fingers and position your hand to make the most out of the shot. It’s quite vital to learn for the budding stars in tennis. Here’s what he says while describing Djokovic’s forehand, which goes unnoticed most of the time.
“Nole’s forehand is one of the best. What’s the most tracking is the delay of the racket head. As you can see it, his hands accelerate fully in the direction of the ball while Nole’s wrist stays totally loose. As a consequence, the racket head is pointing in the direction of the back fence. The grip cap is pointing at the ball.”
“This is what I call the Whip Effect. The delay of the racket head will create a huge acceleration. As the hand goes in the direction of the ball and as the racket is late, it comes back extremely fast to hit the ball,” he said in one of his Facebook posts.
