This source claimed that the official Instagram channel of the Australian Open officially announced the matchup for the upcoming 11th of January. The tweet read- “As announced on the AO Instagram channel, on Thursday 11 Novak Djokovic will play a mixed doubles match partnering up with Aryna Sabalenka They will face Maria Sakkari and Stefanos Tsitsipas.” 

Following Sabalenka and Djokovic’s track records in the Australian Open tournaments, fans are hoping to see something truly unbelievable on the court. Not to forget, Djokovic’s tenth Australian Open victory was secured when he defeated Tsitsipas 6-3,7-6 and 7-6. This two-hour and fifty-five-minute long exciting match kept the fans on their toes.

The first Grand Slam event of the season will kick off from the 14th of January to the 28th of January in Melbourne Park. This year’s tournament will bring some changes in the format. For example, the first-round matches will take place within three days instead of two. A minimum of two matches will be held on the central courts during the daytime sessions. The organizers are avoiding holding more early morning match sessions on the central court. A total of fifty-two game sessions will take place in the event.
