Is Paula Badosa the Novak Djokovic of women's tennis? What do you think of her recent form?

In hopes of targeting the duo’s knowledge of their partners’ hobbies, likes, and dislikes, the Greek tennis star was asked to name a stronghold of his girlfriend’s game that he would like to inculcate in his game style. To much surprise, the former World No. 1 response name-dropped one of the most formidable players in the sport.

Tsitsipas notably stated that he’d pick the Spaniard’s return as a suitable addition to his playing technique. Furthermore, when Badosa was followed up on her lover’s response, she agreed her returns were better than the ‘Greek God.’ Subsequently, the 26-year-old wrapped his feedback by opining that the WTA star’s serve returns showcased themselves as the “Novak Djokovic of women’s tennis.

Novak Djokovic is widely agreed to be one of the best returners on serve in tennis. In 2021, the Serb lead the charts with a 34.6% win rate on return games. Subsequently, he ranked 3rd in 2022 and 2023, with a 160.1 and 158.2 return rating.

The Greek player is not wrong in praising Badosa’s return skill. In a year where she is aiming to return to the top after a long slump due to several issues, Badosa amasses a 43.8% win rate on returns points in the ongoing season. She can especially take advantage of the second serve of her opponents, with a 56.7% win rate on second serves.

As Tsitsipas complimented Badosa’s return skills, the Spaniard found her beau’s volleys to be a strong factor. The two possess talent in areas that would complement rather well in doubles. After previously pulling out from the much-anticipated team-up at the French Open and Wimbledon, the couple is finally ready to join forces at Flushing Meadows. The duo recently performed in the ‘Mixed Madness’ exhibition in the Flushing Meadows.
