The Serbian tennis player has taken his remarkable form to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships: reaching the round of the 16. During the tournament, Djokovic was also featured in a press conference in which he was asked whether breaking Federer’s numbers was part of his goal to be number 1.
Further, Djokovic was also questioned if he aimed to equal Steffi Graf’s records. The 10-time Australian Open champion answered by saying he set up new objectives after he reached the top spot of the ATP rankings for the first time in 2011. Being the world’s no. 1 player has always been the ‘ultimate goal’ for the 35-year-old tennis legend.
He regards it as the ‘ultimate achievement in tennis,’ for any tennis player. So, Djokovic has always strived to hold the top spot with consistency.

The ‘Djoker’ also said that maintaining his fitness levels without picking up any injuries has helped to stay consistent on the tennis court. Hence, other objectives are not the highest priority for the Australian Open champion.
Djokovic’s other priorities also include delivering remarkable performances during various Grand Slam events. If he reaches the top spot in the process, then it would be like the icing on the cake for him. He said, “But things change a little bit. Of course, I wanted to break Roger’s record. I wanted to break Steffi’s record when I was so close. Why not? So I’m here.”
