The young American prodigy, Coco Gauff, is in the form of her life. After her recent success at the Citi Open and the Cincinnati Masters, the 19-year-old has gone on to make a sensational comeback after a shock Wimbledon exit. Currently playing at the US Open, she has managed to secure a semi-final berth after defeating Jelena Ostapenko. However, after the win, she assumed a surprising role to hype Novak Djokovic, ahead of his match against Gauff’s compatriot, Taylor Fritz.
Although it was an adorable moment where Gauff’s fandom for Djokovic was clearly visible, ditching her fellow compatriot might not go down well with her compatriot.

After a stunning quarterfinal victory over Jelena Ostapenko with a scoreline of 6-0, 6-2 at the US Open, Coco Gauff confidently seized the microphone and didn’t hold back. With a smile, she announced the next players who’ll be going to play on the iconic court. However, at that moment, she revealed her admiration for Djokovic and gave a shout-out to him without mentioning her fellow compatriot Taylor Fritz.
‘I’ll take the mic for this one. Coming up next is the #1 player in the world at the end of this tournament. 23 Slams… NOVAK DJOKOVIC!’ said Coco in the on-court interview. However, this isn’t the first time Gauff has paid tribute to the tennis legend, Novak Djokovic, and her candid mention of his name in the post-match conference carries on this tradition.

Gauff’s shoutout certainly added a unique twist to the tournament’s atmosphere, as the tennis world eagerly anticipates Novak Djokovic’s next match, leaving Fritz’s upcoming challenge momentarily in the shadows.
Talking about the match, it would be unfair to not discuss the heroics of the upcoming tennis sensation Coco Gauff.

Gauff finishes the match in just 68 minutes
This win was probably one of the easiest wins for Gauff. However, this statement does not undermine the heroics of Ostapenko, who made one of the major turnarounds after eliminating Iga Swiatek from the tournament. However, she fell short in front of Coco, who finished her match in just 68 minutes, displaying why she was the real heir to the legacy left behind by Serena Williams.
