It’s a day filled with love and appreciation in the Agassi-Graf household! Tennis legends Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf celebrate another year together, but this time, the spotlight shines on the heartwarming messages their children have penned for their remarkable mom. As Steffi turns 55, Jaden and Jaz, Agassi and Graf’s offspring, took to social media to express their gratitude and admiration for the woman who inspires them both on and off the court.

Agassi and Graf’s son, Jaden shared a throwback picture of him as a child with his mother and wrote, “Happy birthday to the best mom I could have ever asked for! Love you mama!!” The mother-son duo were all smiles and looked very happy in the image shared on Jaden’s Instagram story. Similarly, Graf’s daughter, Jaz, also posted an image on her Instagram story, showing the tennis legend walking on a snow-clad road while on vacation. Jaz’s message for Graf read, “Happy birthday to my momma,” followed by a heart emoji.

Although Agassi and Graf are one of the most popular sporting couples, they want to keep their children away from the public lens and media scrutiny. The two children also faced emotional difficulties in adjusting to their parents’ popularity as they were often followed by the media.

For Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, conquering Wimbledon might be a walk in the park, but at home, they’re simply Mom and Dad to their children. Despite having a combined 30 Grand Slam titles, Jaden and Jaz, their 22-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter, see their parents through a different lens. Andre himself acknowledges the disconnect between their on-court legacy and their everyday family life.

“I can imagine how somebody looks at that from the outside,” Agassi, 53, tells PEOPLE exclusively at a press conference on Saturday for The Netflix Slam tennis match in Las Vegas. “Somehow there’s going to be this moment where they go, ‘These are my parents.’” Further Andre explained how for his kids the couple are parents, first and foremost. “So when people are coming up to us in grocery stores, [Jaden and Jaz] were like, ‘What’s up with these people?’ So you go through a whole phase of them going, ‘Well, this makes no sense that the people are coming up as if there’s a big deal. And then they start to put together why it’s a big deal,” he explains.

Jaz and Jaden stay close to their parents, often sharing adorable glimpses of their family on social media. The two stay largely out of the spotlight, as their dad once put it, they’re not too eager for it either. But their love for their parents shines through their various gestures. A few months ago, they also shared heartwarming messages for their father on his birthday.

Emotional “more than life” tribute for Andre Agassi from his family

The American tennis legend turned 54 on 29th April. On this special day, his social media-savvy children took to Instagram and paid tribute to their father with heartening birthday wishes. His daughter, Jaz, proved why she is her father’s princess by sharing a nostalgic picture with her father.

In the image shared on her Instagram story, Jaz was pictured trying out skateboarding skills along with her father. Wishing Agassi on his birthday, Jaz wrote, “Love you more than life itself”. Similarly, Agassi’s son, Jaden, also wished his father on his birthday with an adorable post on Instagram.

Nonetheless, Agassi and Graf have made sure their children don’t suffer these emotional difficulties due to their popularity. It goes to show how close-knit the family is, always ensuring the other member stays away from any troubles.
