3-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray recently competed at the Moselle Open 2021. The Scot reached the quarter-final of the ATP 250 tournament. He lost to Hubert Hurkacz, who later went on to win the trophy.
Even though Andy Murray has not won a title this year, his comeback on the court has inspired many other tennis players, including Kim Clijsters. In the pre-tournament press conference of the WTA Chicago Classic 2021, the former World No.1 highlighted that Murray’s return to the court motivates her a lot.

Clijsters credits Murray with motivation for comeback
“Seeing Andy Murray and the way he speaks about his comeback and everything, it’s so motivating and it gives you a lot of energy too,” said Clijsters in the press conference.

Clijsters will be playing her first match since 2020 at the upcoming Chicago Fall Classic. She revealed that she has been practicing really hard to make a return to the court.
“I’ve been practicing for a long time so I’m excited to start playing matches again. That’s the reason I’m here, to play more matches so I can slowly build my level and get more match rhythm and match routine under my belt,” added the 4-tme Grand Slam champion.

Kim Clijsters discloses how she relates to Andy Murray
Clijsters highlighted that she can relate a lot to Murray. She feels that both of them have been through some tough times but are still fighting hard to earn their place in the sport once again.

“To see him go through the things he’s gone through and be open about the challenges of it and the belief that he has, I feel like it’s something I can relate to,” concluded the 38-year-old player.
