Argentine tennis is synonymous with Juan Martin del Potro. The 33-year-old has had an illustrious tennis career. Further, the towering Argentine has won 22 singles titles, including the US Open title in 2009. Additionally, his big forehands could give any top player a run for his money.

However, del Potro’s career has been plagued by injuries. It has kept him away from performing consistently at the highest level. Recently, he made a comeback at the Argentina Open after being out for more than two and a half years owing to knee and wrist injuries. After his first-round loss to fellow countryman Federico Delbonis, he admitted that it might be his final match after being uncertain about his participation at the Rio Open.

The elder Williams sister conducts a weekly tennis show on her ‘EleVen By Venus Williams’ Instagram page. Fans have an opportunity to ask the American legend questions related to the sport.

One of the fans asked her, “Thoughts on Delpo?” She replied, “Juan was definitely one of my favorite players. I mean, biggest forehand, so exciting to watch, and just wasn’t blessed with the best health. His career was so inspiring and wish him the best of health and best of luck in his next endeavors.”

Juan Martin del Potro had received a wildcard entry to participate at the Rio Open. However, he admitted that he was unsure of his participation and needed to have a word with the doctors to see what was best for his health.
