Patrick Mouratoglou is not new to the tennis world. He has been part of the sport for almost 30 years now. The tennis coach has trained big names like Serena Williams in the past. However, earlier this year, the 52-year-old joined Halep as a primary coach.

Nevertheless, after the doping news broke out, the tennis coach’s statement came in support of the Romanian star. But still, people around are intrigued to blame the other parties involved in the incident. Recently, the former tennis player, Jimmy Connors in a podcast talked about Simona Halep’s doping incident. He also felt Serena Williams‘ former coach was wrongly accused of the same.

Connors said, “Well, you know, I don’t know, it seems that when things are going good, everybody’s happy when things are going bad. The first thing you want to do is, it’s never the player’s fault.” The Badboy defended the tennis coach and discussed how fans hold the famous athletes’ entourages accountable.
Connors felt Halep’s doping episode might have been an oversight
He also discussed his impressions of the two-time Grand Slam champion over the same. The eight-time Grand Slam champion never imagined that a determined individual like Halep would be locked in a situation like this.
