Fans are no strangers to the unexpected in tennis – whether it’s a shocking match result or something brewing off the court. And, one player who seems to find himself in the middle of such surprises is Jannik Sinner. Already dealing with the whirlwind of a doping controversy, the Italian star now finds himself at the center of another unexpected twist: rumors of his marriage!
Yes, you heard it right! Whispers surfaced suggesting that Sinner might have secretly got engaged with his girlfriend and fellow tennis player Anna Kalinskaya. It was also rumored that the couple might be planning to tie the knot soon. In a bizarre revelation, Italian Magazine DiPiù claimed that Sinner proposed to the Russian star for marriage at the “Afro party organized at the Chelsea Market in New York,” after the World No. 1 won the US Open title. However, Sinner and Kalinskaya have now come out to dismiss all such rumors, expressing their surprise over the matter.
Speaking after defeating Tomás Martín Etcheverry in the third round of the Shanghai Masters, Sinner was quizzed about the rumors of his marriage. Responding to that, the star player expressed his surprise and laughed at the rumors. “It was new news also for me, to be honest No, I didn’t ask, and nothing, nothing happened.” Sinner said with laughter. “I just read the details a little bit that it happened after US Open, but it’s all false, false news,” he said. Earlier, a similar reaction came from Kalinskaya as well.

Be it praising each other’s talent or kissing after winning a title, as was witnessed at the US Open, fans have seen several adorable gestures between this power couple of tennis. However, Sinner has maintained that he likes to keep his love life private. Confirming their relationship during the French Open this year, Sinner said, “I‘m with Anna, yes, but we keep everything very confidential, you know my confidentiality… I won’t say more.” Hence, when the rumors about their marriage took center stage, it was unbelievable for many, as it did not come directly from either of the two players.
