Iga Swiatek is enjoying the best season of her tennis career. Swiatek mentioned earlier that she idolizes the Spanish legend, Rafael Nadal. On numerous occasions, the Polish star has spoken highly about Nadal. Recently, she expressed her emotions after playing doubles with him.

Earlier this season, she became the top-ranked singles player at the age of just 20! Moreover, she had a 37-match winning streak that included winning six titles, including the French Open and the Sunshine Double.

During an interview, Swiatek talked about her experience of playing alongside her idol. She said, “Once in a lifetime experience. Well, Rafa is great. I wouldn’t even imagine as a kid, like, playing next to him and being in the same team.”

Swiatek is gearing up to win her maiden US Open title. Her best result in this Grand Slam tournament has been a fourth-round appearance last year, where she lost to Belinda Bencic of Switzerland.
Swiatek teamed up with Nadal to play at the Tennis Plays for Peace exhibition, an event to support Ukraine. The pair took on Coco Gauff and John McEnroe. The players enthralled the fans as Nadal and Swiatek came out victorious in this encounter.

The Polish star hasn’t been in the best of form since her title-winning run at the French Open. She had third-round exits at the recently concluded hard court tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati.
Further, a difficult draw at this year’s US Open hasn’t helped her cause either. Swiatek will take on Jasmine Paolini of Italy in the first round of the tournament. Subsequently, a potential clash against the former US Open champion, Sloane Stephens, will await the Pole in the second round.
