Reportedly, Collins is the player, who has impressed Roddick the most this season. Be it with her ‘ferocious’ playing style or her dominating performances in the last few tournaments, she has looked absolutely unstoppable this season. Recently, the American tennis legend got the chance to host Danielle Collins on the recent episode of the podcast, ‘Served with Andy Roddick.’
During the podcast, Collins went on to reveal an adorable story surrounding her admiration for Andy Roddick. While speaking to Roddick, she said, “Thank you for having me on the podcast show. You are one of my favorite players. Your manager kept in touch with me after I got to play with you. I obviously became a huge fan and I would clip out your articles.” She admitted that although she couldn’t cut those paper clippings in perfect shape, she loved his fast-serving abilities. Collins said she was like, “Wow Andy 153 miles an hour, I love you!”
Now that’s so0mething that would make any man blush, isn’t it? The duo seem to have a respectable relationship and Collins’ compliment made Roddick go red quite a bit.

Even Danielle Collins has that powerful serving ability. Something which her opponents love to stay out of the way. Andy Roddick believes, Collins “has the game that can take racquet out of someone like Iga’s hand.” He loves seeing this type of aggression on the court and has also reflected on her support for Collins many times in the past.
Danielle Collins won back-to-back titles in Miami and Charleston this year. Fans were hoping that she would grab her third at the Madrid Open as well. But she failed to do so and got defeated by Aryna Sabalenka in the R16. Her 15-match winning streak came to an end. But it was Andy Roddick who stepped in first to give her a comfort after that disappointing loss.

It seems Roddick and Collins share a wholesome camaraderie. This was most evident when, during a podcast at the Tennis Channel, Andy Roddick, defending the30-year-old tennis player, stating, “You can save it. I’ll say that Sabalenka is pretty good. I know Danielle Collins has played great stuff winning Miami, winning in Charleston. She’s allowed to lose sometimes. Sabalenka, by the way, won the Australian Open this year, so not like an upset let’s not treat it like an upset yet.”
However, this is not the first time the duo has been linked. Reportedly, their friendship dates back several years with Andy Roddick being Danielle Collins’ first doubles partner.

The latter recently shared a story of her getting the chance to play with Andy Roddick during a children’s foundation event when she was pretty young. Even her mother has a few photos of her giving a pose with the tennis legend. “Andy Roddick was my first doubles partner. Andy doesn’t remember it but yeah, I think I was like 10 or 11 years old.”
