‘I Lost My Ranking’- Grigor Dimitrov Once Detailed How Hollywood Star Nicole Scherzinger Helped Him After His Break-Up With Ex-girlfriend Maria Sharapova

The Bulgarian tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, reached unprecedented heights in his tennis journey when he previously achieved the World No. 3 men’s ranking. However, during his journey, Dimitrov also faced many hardships and struggles. The Bulgarian was left heartbroken after a split from the former Russian tennis player, Maria Sharapova.

Dimitrov once revealed that his break-up with Sharapova affected his tennis journey massively. He further stated that the American singer-songwriter, Nicole Scherzinger, picked him during the dark phase of his tennis journey.

Grigor Dimitrov once talked about his split from Maria Sharapova

The former World No. 3 Dimitrov was once involved in a romantic relationship with Maria Sharapova for over a time period of two years. However, due to some personal reasons, the tennis couple decided to split. Additionally, their split devastated the Bulgarian tennis player and it also affected his tennis rankings.

Dimitrov once revealed that his rankings slipped down as he faced many defeats after his break-up with Sharapova. He further revealed that spending much more time inside rather than playing on the tennis court affected his training. Dimitrov also stated, “I stopped with my coach,”

The Bulgarian went on to say that his game got affected as he was not playing at his best levels. Dimitrov added that he was also very frustrated after his split as he “was fighting with people.” He further talked about his dark phase by stating, “I went through my break-up … I was tired of everything, one by one, falling apart. I’ve always been a very easy-going person. I don’t want to say gullible, but when I saw someone I always thought that person is the way they present themselves … (but) that’s not entirely true.”

The former World No. 3 tennis player started dating the American singer-songwriter, Nicole Scherzinger, at the beginning of 2016. Dimitrov once talked about his relationship with Scherzinger and he stated the American singer supported him after his breakup. He also stated that his ATP rankings were also improved when he was dating Scherzinger.

The Bulgarian further talked about dating the popular American singer and their hectic schedules. Dimitrov stated,  “The schedules are very heavy. But she’s doing a better job than I am at being able to come to most of the places I’m at.”

However, after a short of their romantic relationship, Dimitrov and Scherzinger parted ways. The American singer previously revealed that she was single during an episode of Australia’s Got Talent. The show featured Scherzinger as a judge.
