Next up was the mixed doubles encounter that saw Tiafoe and Williams take on the pair of Federer and Bencic. The Swiss pair eventually won the match and the tie. Recently, Tiafoe recounted Serena’s funny moment from that match.

During their match, Federer kept acing Serena, to which the American legend had a funny response. Recollecting that incident, Tiafoe said, “Yeah, I think she’s really funny. Obviously, you guys see how fierce and the passion and stuff she has on the court. She’s very funny outside of it.”
Further, he went on to add, “Super easygoing. I can remember when we played mixed in Perth, we were playing against Federer and Belinda. She gets aced by Roger twice.”

“She’s like, ‘I don’t know how this guy is acing me.’ She goes, ‘Don’t worry, we’re not going to lose. Even if we do lose, I got 23 [Grand Slam titles], he got 20, so it’s all good (laughter).’ I’m just like, man, this is too much. This is how she is in general,” Tiafoe said.
Tiafoe knocks out Rafael Nadal at the US Open
Local hero Frances Tiafoe enthralled his fans as he caused a massive upset at the 2022 US Open. He defeated the second seed, Rafael Nadal, in the fourth round of the tournament. In a match lasting just over three and a half hours, Tiafoe prevailed 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
