A terrifying accident took place at Wimbledon involving a 46-year-old driver which resulted in the death of an eight-year-old schoolgirl and several others were seriously injured. Amidst this devastating news, the schoolgirl’s family released a heartbreaking statement.

Metropolitan Police released the details about the deceased girl. The eight-year-old was named Selena Lau and her family’s statement was also revealed by the authorities. As per her family members, Selena was ‘intelligent and cheeky.’ Further, the family also said that she was widely loved by everyone. Emotions were felt as their heartbreaking statement brought tears to the eyes of many. Additionally, the family also appealed for privacy as they try to recover during this tough phase.
Meanwhile, the police also said that another girl of the same age was battling for life, and a woman in her 40s was critical as the car crashed into them at the preparatory school’s site at Wimbledon.

As many as 16 people were injured from the incident and paramedics rushed to the site to give preliminary treatment. Later, 10 people were taken to the hospital for further treatment. The 46-year-old driver was arrested and later bailed pending further inquiries. This incident has resulted in wide grief and sorrow. The police officer, who was announcing this news, was also severely affected by it.

In the aftermath of the incident, a lady officer, named Clair Kelland broke down while announcing the news about the eight-year-old schoolgirl’s death. She explained the incident and revealed the people affected by it. Additionally, she also narrated the rescue efforts that were put in to minimize the damage.
