The teen sensation broke several records as she won her maiden Grand Slam title. Hence, everyone around the globe was all praise for the youngster, including a fellow Brit who had something special to say.

In quite a remarkable statement, Judy Murray, mother of the famous Murray brothers, drew comparisons between the US Open champion and the legendary British duo.

In an interview with Sky Sports News, Judy Murray discussed some parallels between her son, Andy Murray, and Emma. She recalled a memorable moment of the 2005 Wimbledon Championship, when Murray was ahead, two sets to none, against David Nalbandian, the then World No. 4.

Reflecting upon that time in history, Judy said, “That was the moment when his life changed.”

She believes that once you start winning matches; you become public property. However, speaking of Emma, she added, “I hope everyone gives her the space and that it doesn’t overwhelm her.”

Undoubtedly, Judy is a fan of the teenager. Post Emma’s title-winning performance, she posted a special tweet congratulating the 18-year-old on her astonishing US Open campaign. Hence, she believes Raducanu is emerging to be a true inspiration for many back home and around the world.

Judy also stated that the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) is making significant contributions to the growth of tennis in the United Kingdom. This would definitely allow more players to participate in the sport. Notably, she feels Raducanu’s recent achievement is a wonderful opportunity for the upliftment of tennis in the United Kingdom.
