18-year-old rising star, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia earned a huge name after defeating World No.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the third round of the US Open 2021. He recently won his round of 16 match match and is now in the quarters of the Grand Slam. Even though both his matches went to five sets, he performed brilliantly under pressure.
In a recent video posted by the Australian Open’s official Twitter handle, one can see many big players lauding Carlos Alcaraz. In the beginning, Spanish player Pablo Carreno Busta highlighted that even though he is a great player, it’s too early to call him the next Rafael Nadal.

“He is very young… Everybody wants another Nadal. But, you know, Rafa is Rafa. It’s so difficult to be like him,” said Busta in the video.
Even Nadal himself has praised Alcaraz in the past. He believes that the youngster has all the skills to be an incredible player one day.
“Well he has it. He has intensity. He has a passion and he has all the ingredients to become a great champion,” mentioned Nadal.

“So I feel like, when you start playing well, and you’re young and you’re like a promising player or something, people like to, you know, talk a lot and then, ‘oh, she’s going to do this’, ‘oh, he’s going to do that’ and I feel like maybe. But the racquet will talk,” stated Muguruza in the video.
