Yes! We’re talking about the handsome American Andre Agassi and the beautiful Russian, Anna Kournikova. Agassi once admitted that he had played tennis with Kournikova on quite a few occasions, adding that the young player was a major distraction.

Andre Agassi admits about his distracted gameplay when playing against Anna Kournikova

Andre Agassi, a tennis great, is unable to forget Anna Kournikova’s ‘soft hands’ in addition to her prowess as a player. He revealed this as being one of the things he remembers most about her. Agassi, who is now 52 years old, confesses that Kournikova back then was a significant source of distraction when the two of them competed together on the court.

We played a few times. An exhibition and some giggle doubles. As an opponent she was, um, distracting. She had more talent than she was given credit for. Her serve wasn’t up to much but she had really soft hands…” he said.

Agassi’s history on and off the court

In 2001, the former world number one  tied the knot with fellow tennis great, Steffi Graf, who has won a total tally of 22 Grand Slam titles. They were together for nearly twenty years and have been blessed with two children: Jaden Gil Agassi and Jaz Elle Agassi.

In terms of Agassi’s professional career, he reached the pinnacle of his success in the early 2000s when he won three Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open. In 2004, at age 42, he won the singles competition at the Cincinnati Masters, making him the second-oldest player to do so. The next year, he made it to the finals of the US Open.

Over the years, Agassi has been noted for his versatile playing style and has always been a firm favorite among fans. He won the French Open in 1999, making him the first man to win all four Grand Slam events on three different surfaces. He was the fifth man in history to win all four Grand Slam events.
