Novak Djokovic suffered a heart-breaking defeat at Wimbledon in a close five-set thriller against Carlos Alcaraz Garfia. However, this has then somehow set the tone that it is time for the new generation of players to establish their supremacy. But the former coach of Venus and Serena Williams has refuted this notion owing to the record-setting legacy of the Serbian tennis legend. As the world no. 2 pulls up his socks for the US Open run after two years, veteran coach Rick Macci picks his side.

Novak Djokovic could not participate in the US Open for the past two years. His vaccination status during the COVID-19 pandemic affected his presence. However, now as he steps onto the court, the veteran coach wants to give a clear picture of his chances this year.

The first professional coach of Venus and Serena Williams has repeatedly given his verdict about active players on the court. This time, he is bringing in numbers, as he talks about the chances of Novak Djokovic at the US Open.

The veteran coach took to Twitter and wrote, “Novak Djokovic is the favorite at the U.S OPEN.” However, he accepted that Djokovic did face a setback at Wimbledon this year against Carlos Alcaraz Garfia. He added, “His inner goat core took a shot across the net from Carlito at Wimby.”

But then he reminded the world of Djokovic’s infallible legacy that needs only some challenge to get stronger. He concluded, “But when the best of all time with 94 singles titles and 23 grand slams in his back pocket gets knocked Down even more Serbian goat determination will be Found.”

No one denies the astounding budding talent of Carlos Alcaraz Garfia. However, even the veteran coach feels that it is too far-fetched. He sternly believes that Djokovic can still hold his ground.
