Well, the 2018 WTA Finals winner has not been short on prize money over the year, and the total has surpassed her long-term partner’s by over a million dollars ($23.3 million). Not only that, she has also earned her place among the 18 highest prize money earners in the WTA community.

This is because she became the first WTA player from her homeland, Ukraine, to earn a medal in tennis for her country. As she later addressed that moment, Svitolina described her feelings about the whole event.

“The most difficult victory was at this year’s Olympics in Tokyo, where I won Ukraine’s first Olympic tennis medal. For me, it was a real battle, I understood how precious this victory was. And I understood all of the expectations.”

Further adding, she continued, “It’s impossible to describe the feeling when you are playing for the national team, and the whole country supports you. I am happy that my dream came true.”

Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils are both focusing on their second-round match of the French Open this season.  While they progress in the tournament, the tennis world is eager to witness more of their success both on and off the court.
