The Frenchman, however, suffered an unexpected injury following the miraculous victory that cannot be disregarded. And as a result, he decided to withdraw his name from the competition. While his abrupt withdrawal left his fans heartbroken, the tournament’s organizers may have gotten themselves into trouble as a result of his withdrawal spell.

The former sixth-ranked tennis player made a sudden withdrawal because of a wrist injury he suffered during the first round of the tournament. He pulled out less than 24 hours before his match with Holger Rune was scheduled. However, that’s not the biggest problem; he was set to face the Danish tennis player in a blockbuster night session match. And because of this, they gave his prime slot match to Alexander Zverev and Alex Molcan.
The decision by the French Open might have gotten them into a widespread problem. As tennis fans were not really happy with the way the women’s matches were scheduled. Nevertheless, with Monfils’ withdrawal, they had a wonderful opportunity to feature a women’s match in the prime slot.

According to Express reports, the decision to have a men’s watch again in the prime slot created a lot of heat. And are receiving major backlash with the replacement of matches. Last year, the event’s organizers came under a lot of criticism, to the point that the tournament’s director, Amelie Mauresmo, issued an apology. She apologized for only scheduling one women’s match among the 10 prime-time sessions throughout the tournament.
Up until this point, only men’s matches have been shown during real prime-time night sessions. But Roland Garros’ schedules are once again receiving a lot of attention. Following this worry, the tournament director clarified this year’s tournament schedule in an interview with BCC Sport a few days ago.
