French Open King Rafael Nadal Overwhelms Alize Cornet in Her Dream Last Night With a Delightful Tennis ‘Proposal’

A disappointing fate struck Rafael Nadal in his run for the French Open title. Even though the Spaniard badly wanted to survive longer in Paris, his opening match rival was strong enough to not let him go beyond. While Rafa might have exited early from the major event, it seems like he isn’t yet out of the minds, hearts, and dreams of the people who admire him.

Alize Cornet, the WTA star from France, is a die-hard Rafa fan, to the point she sees him in her dreams! Even after facing a terrible defeat in her opening-round match against Qinwen Zheng, the tennis star didn’t seem to be sad about it but was seen charmingly happy because of a dream that she had the previous night.

In a recent press conference, the French Open 2024 wild card Alize Cornet came forward to narrate a funny yet adorable story about her immense love for Nadal. The tennis star mentioned how she had a comfy sleep with Rafael Nadal appearing in her dream. “I’ve slept very well. I’ve dreamed of @RafaelNadal all night. He proposed me to made a 3-set match in Strasbourg. There were his relatives there… When I woke up I thought : wow,” she said. 

Rafael Nadal’s last match at the Philippe-Chatrier added another chapter to his book of unforgettable moments. Even after the tennis star faced a defeat against Alexander Zverev, the ones who witnessed the showdown had tears in their eyes and fierceness in their hands to send him off with the biggest applause.

The Spaniard has long inspired the French WTA star, who cites him as an inspiration, “I think I dared to talk to him once in my life, which shows my admiration for him.” She is recognized right back by Rafa, who sent her a ‘best wishes’ personalized video when Cornet announced her retirement.

Set to bid farewell to the tennis world, Corent was one of the many spectators present in the glorious arena to witness the Spaniard. However, the reason behind her dreaming about Rafa was hidden in her presence at the Phillippe Chatrier.

Soon after facing a defeat against Qinwen Zheng, Alize Cornet mentioned how she was emotionally driven by witnessing Rafa’s match.

“I was already in tears after Rafa Nadal’s match. I’m in more tears now. Lots of emotions,” the French WTA star said, letting her thoughts out after watching the Spaniard’s emotional match. Along with that, she also mentioned how it was a dual band of emotions with her set to take an exit from the tennis world. “I’ve been preparing myself for weeks for this moment but you’re never really ready when you have to say goodbye,” she added.

Rafael Nadal’s probable appearance at Roland Garros was undoubtedly the most emotional moment for the fans. Although he expressed his urge to continue playing, his fate in the tennis scene is yet to be determined.
