Boris shared a reliable tennis source’s tweet, where they shared the Tsitsidosa’s match details against Japanese Ena Shibahara and American Nathaniel Lammons in the first round. This is not the first time when this couple had to retrieve their participation in the mixed doubles in a major tournament. Last year, Badosa’s injury stopped her from taking this interesting opportunity with Tsitsipas in Wimbledon. On the other hand, Tsitsipas didn’t withdraw his name from playing doubles with his brother Petros Tsitsipas in Roland Garros.

Previously this Greek ATP star said mushy things about his decision to play mixed doubles with his girlfriend in Paris. “Paris holds a special place for me and Paula, that’s where we had our first date right before Roland-Garros last year, our anniversary occurs here, so for us it was a no-brainer to play our first mixed doubles in Roland-Garros”- he said.

Even Badosa seemed very enthusiastic about this match. “We also have a very beautiful relationship and we want, if time permits of course, to share such moments, it’s something unique – why not? And after all, we are tennis players, but we are also people with feelings. So I think that’s a cool thing, He will work for me so I don’t have to run much. It’s good to practice”- she said. After their intense enthusiasm, even their fans were hoping to enjoy their match, however, Tsitsipas’s hectic French Open schedule didn’t permit turning their fans’ dream into a reality. He expressed genuine sadness over this decision.

While their fans are sad, Tsitsipas cleared the air about why he chose to not participate in the French Open’s mixed doubles first round. Speaking about his tensions about playing against Carlos Alcarz in the quarterfinals, Tsitsipas mentioned that he felt hectic to play two doubles matches before that. However, that didn’t mean he wasn’t disappointed about it.

I’m still upset about it. I have to blame the weather in Paris. It was a disaster. I didn’t expect that I would have to play two doubles in one day, especially a day before a big match like the singles quarterfinals. It’s too much for anyone and I think it was a wise decision to retire from one of the boards,”- said Tsitsipas in a press conference. However, he will be playing a doubles match with his brother Petros. On the other hand, Badosa had to exit the tour after losing to her bestie Sabalenka in the third round.

Nevertheless, Borris Becker’s hilarious reaction showed how people eagerly waited for Tsitsidosa’s charm on the court. While they had to withdraw, fans are rooting for Tsitsipas as he moved to the tour’s quarterfinals in Paris.
