Is the involvement of sports stars enough to raise awareness about the hurricane's impact on Florida?

Florida is in deep trouble! Not long back, the Floridians just got past Hurricane Selene. Little did they realize that their lives were on the verge of being upended once again by the force of another approaching hurricane. With each passing day, the situation deteriorates further, leaving people desperately seeking aid. Amidst all the hustle and bustle, two of the great names in the sport came ahead and offered their prayers to the natives of Florida. Frances Tiafoe‘s girlfriend Ayan Broomfield and Caroline Wozniacki joined hands to express their emotions about a place badly affected.

Ayan Broomfield came forward and offered prayers for the people of Florida as Hurricane Milton, a Category 5 storm, approached the coast. Recently, NBC News reported that Hurricane Milton had intensified and was moving toward Mexico, but it is now expected to strike Florida. The storm’s arrival comes at a time when the state is already struggling to recover from Hurricane Helene, which flooded areas and damaged livelihoods just days earlier. Over 15 million people were affected by Helene, and now, with Milton, another 11 million are at risk.

Broomfield, who is rooting for her boyfriend playing at the Shanghai Masters, took some time to post a story on her Instagram. She posted a link that had access to aid and shelter for the people who had suffered from the hurricane. “Praying for everyone who is in the hurricanes path,” another story said that showed the concern that she had for the locals.

However, she was not alone. WTA legend Caroline Wozniacki while taking to her Instagram talked about the impact and advised people to stay safe. “The calm before the storm for Florida! Stay Safe Everyone,” said Wozniacki in her story while raising her concern. However, this is not the first time when tennis stars have joined hands to spread awareness to the people. Interestingly, just a few days back, Coco Gauff and WTA Legend Chris Evert also shared their concerns towards the locals.

Coco Gauff and Chris Evert also join Frances Tiafoe’s girlfriend and Caroline Wozniacki in spreading awareness

Coco Gauff, who is a resident at Delray Beach, Florida, too, came forward just like Frances Tiafoe’s girlfriend and others to make her thoughts clear. “Please Stay Safe Florida,” wrote Gauff in her story while suggesting the people in Florida be safe and sound and do everything it takes to get past this hurricane.

She was then joined by the WTA legend Chris Evert, who resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who also made her thoughts clear about the whole situation. While sharing a clip from CNN about the whole thing, she suggested the people evacuate the place as soon as they could, as the hurricane was not “survivable”. “Please take this warning seriously!” said Evert before concluding.

Thus, the people of Florida are in deep trouble at the moment as Hurricane Milton is in full swing. Not long ago, Helene struck the lives of the people, and now this. In this time of adversity, big names from the tennis world have joined hands for a common cause as they look to spread awareness and make people know about the seriousness of the hurricane.
