Pickleball has been gaining popularity at a very good pace, especially in America. There are pickleball clips doing rounds on social media on a daily basis. More courts and rackets have been produced for the ‘baby version’ of tennis as it appears to be a less physically consuming form of the sport.

In light of the growing popularity of pickleball, certain tennis enthusiasts and traditionalists are not quite pleased. They believe that it might have a negative impact on tennis by stopping the entry of potential fans into the original sport. It seems like the former coach of Serena Williams, Rennae Stubbs happens to be one of them.

Recently, the official handle of New York City Parks posted a pickleball clip. They announced that they are serving five new courts in one of the parks. Moreover, those courts would not require any entry fee thereby luring more fans to come and play. However, Rennae Stubbs was furious at this announcement.

The ex-coach of Serena Williams has been quite vocal about her pickleball hate. In response to the NYC Parks tweet, she said, “How about fixing the tennis courts in the city and surrounding areas!? There are a lot more people wanting to play tennis in this city and you give them less and less options! Also fix the courts u have! U know like the ones people play on with cracks and craters!“. Her reply suggested that America is prioritizing pickleball over tennis and the tennis courts have seen no improvements in recent years.

Stubbs has never failed to slam pickleball as a sport. She refuses to buy into the hype and even the past legends have faced her wrath in recent times.

Rennae Stubbs did not hold back to call out McEnroe for this. She believes that pickleball has been trying to lure the greats of the game with large amounts of money. While the likes of McEnroe and Andre Agassi surrendered against pickleball, Stubbs stayed loyal to tennis.
