In the age of social media, a single tweet can have a huge impact, and Chris Evert’s message is a prime example. Evert’s tweet shining a light on Venus Williams’ stunning return to the court read: “great comebacks from @Venuseswilliams and @Ons_Jabeur 👍👍👍👏👏👏”

Speaking of Ons Jabeur, she also didn’t back down from celebrating Venus Williams after her win either. She also called her the one who had inspired her comeback. The tennis world was treated to incredible skill and determination as the Wimbledon runner up scored a stunning victory over Anhelina Kalinina at the 2023 Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.

Jabeur said in her post-match interview: “I heard some people telling me not to give up. And I saw Venus did it yesterday, coming back from 5-1. She’s an inspiration for me and for many players so I’ve got to thank her for the comeback today.” Praise for VW didn’t stop just there.
