Revealing his thoughts on Gauff’s emergence and her rivalries, Rusedski said, “I think what we need is a rivalry especially on the women’s side because on the men’s side, you have Carlos, the young man, against Novak Djokovic, the legend of our sport. You need a Coco-Swiatek, you need a Coco-Sabalenka. You need a group to play in major finals or semi-finals week after week.”
Rusedski is talking highly of the reigning US Open champion of late. While Gauff received some criticism for changes in her coaching staff, the former British Number 1 was all praise for her.

The former US Open finalist gave his seal of approval for Gauff’s new partnership with Andre Agassi’s former coach, Brad Gilbert. Talking about it, he said, “I think that’s the key for Coco. I mean, she’s a phenomenal athlete, mentally so tough. We talked about the forehand problems, and second serve problems, and Brad brought a perspective, ‘Let’s not focus on those things. Let’s get the job done.’”
The American tennis sensation will look to continue her winning run and finish this season on a high. She is currently playing in the WTA 1000 China Open.
