While talking about his tennis-to-pickleball transition, the American tennis veteran recently picked his favorites for a doubles game, after speaking exclusively to EssentiallySports at the La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs.

The first-ever Desert Smash celebrity pickleball challenge event is underway, with the likes of Sam Querrey marking their participation in it. As he issued his honest take on his tennis-to-pickleball transition, the former ATP player was interviewed by questioning, “If you get a chance to play with a tennis player in a pickleball doubles game, who would you choose?”

In a conversation with EssentiallySports, Querrey, said, “I would probably like Federer and Nadal and then like the Williams sisters, something like that, I think.” When asked who he would like to beat in the new racket game, the American tennis veteran said, “I could probably play with Federer.”

The former world No. 11 player has made his stance clear when it comes to his dream pickleball team, as he talked about his switch to a different racket game. As he talked about his favorites for a doubles game, Querrey also issued a piece of advice for the tennis players getting inclined toward pickleball.

In the same interview, the former American tennis player was asked if he faced any challenges during his transition to a different racket game. Querrey said, “I have been playing for a year now. It’s pretty easy. Everyone coming from tennis. You can get good at pickleball quickly. So, I’m still working on my game, I’m getting better every day.”
