Elina Svitolina‘s performance graph has been experiencing a downtrend in the last few weeks. Starting from the Indian Wells Masters, the WTA star couldn’t manage to create a winning position, including the Madrid Open where she faced an opening match defeat. Although she might be struggling with her professional life right now, Svitolina’s personal life is filled with joy. The reason? Her toddler daughter.
Recently, Svitolina indulged in a conversation with Sky Sports. Talking about different aspects of her life, the discussion reached an interesting point when the reporter enquired about the most precious moment of her life. The athlete, who welcomed her daughter Skai in October 2022 with her husband Gael Monfils, chose to talk about the whole journey.
Speaking about the birth of her daughter, Svitolina expressed, “For sure the moment was having our daughter Skai. It was such a long journey, you know, nine months carrying her, and then finally meeting her; it was a special moment.” She added more beauty to the explanation by highlighting the support of her husband’s presence, adding, “I was so happy to have him by my side and to have that moment together; I think it stands out by far.”

“It’s hard. I’m going to Dubai next week so it’ll really be four weeks – we say four weeks not to say a month! – that I haven’t seen her, and it’s a long time at that age when she discovers lots of things. We’re very lucky that FaceTime exists, but it doesn’t replace anything,” Monfils expressed, during the week of being out.
As the tennis star continues to move ahead on her journey, tackling both personal and professional lives, it is evident that Svitolina is powered by her daughter’s love throughout!
