Chris Evert recently shared a sweet message for Andre Agassi’s ex-coach. She recently fell victim to an ongoing rumor regarding the former tennis coach, Nick Bollettieri. In the previous decades, Borrelli had helped develop many top players, like Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, and Monica Seles. He was successful in pioneering the idea of a tennis boarding school.

In the 1970s and 1980s, Evert dominated the women’s side of tennis. Since the early 70s, the tennis legend has blessed America with her presence on television. Earlier in the week, some rumors pointed out the passing of Bollettieri on November 20th. However, according to the most recent information provided by his family, the 91-year-old is still fighting for his life.

Chris Evert shared a message of hope for Nick Bollettieri

In 1978, Bollettieri was the star of his academy. When it was founded in Florida (Bradenton), the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy was the first of its kind. The academy provided tennis players with a facility where they could stay, learn, and hone their skills. Recently, the veteran coach has been struggling physically. The 91-year-old Bollettieri stumbled on the court in 2020 while participating in a workout. He is clinging onto his life as of now, and wishes are pouring in from renowned personalities in the tennis world.

Evert recently shared on her Twitter, “Thinking of you, Nick,..and sending you lots of love and prayers…🙏❤”. As per the latest information shared by his family members, the 91-year-old’s still fighting for his life.

Bollettieri was once taken to the hospital after passing out during a tennis lesson. He was pivotal in grooming well-known players at his academy.

The International Management Group (IMG) purchased the academy from Bollettieri in 1987 to use it as a model for other sports. Bollettieri had continued to look over the operations and was instrumental in the growth of the tennis academy and related initiatives.

Bollettieri has spent the majority of his time in Florida, working as a coach at the academy for elite athletes.

Evert successfully battled ovarian cancer

The 18-time Grand Slam champion received her diagnosis in January 2022. She has hoped that by sharing her story, she could highlight the importance of early detection. Evert had completed her sixth and final chemotherapy treatment for stage 1C ovarian cancer in May. She commemorated the event with a video update on social media.

After regular chemotherapy sessions, Evert is now finally free from the clutches of the deadly disease. Since then, the 18-time Grand Slam champion has been outspoken about the importance of early cancer detection.
