More often than not, couples are bonded by similar traits which complement them well. It results in couples forging an unbreakable bond that lasts for years. However, when it comes to Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, the power couple is a stark exception to this belief. The duo is one of the most adorable sporting couples out there and often shares wonderful glimpses of their time spent together. On this occasion, Badosa revealed a contradicting trait that helps them bond well in their personal lives.
In the recent edition of the Hola Magazine, Badosa and Tsitsipas made it to the cover page. During an interview there, Badosa was asked about the term ‘soulmates’ which is often used to describe the pairing of Tsitsidosa. The Spanish beauty revealed how the term came into use to describe the power couple.
She said, “We are very similar in our way of being. Since we are dedicated to the same thing, we empathize a lot with each other. On the other hand, I think we have also experienced very similar things in the past and that has forged similar characters. He is a person who is perhaps a little more introverted and I am more extroverted, but I think we complement each other very well. He always mentioned that we were like soulmates and I think he is quite right.”

While Badosa can easily mix with fellow tennis colleagues, Tsitsipas has often expressed his introverted nature. Take the example of his split with his ex-coach and father, Apostolos. “As an introvert, I tend to hold in my emotions and build them up until I reach a bursting point. I consider myself patient, so the fact that I reacted this way left me shocked,” he said while announcing his separation from his father on the professional front.

Playing at such a high level consistently for years is no mean feat. As a result, players sometimes lose their emotions when things aren’t going their way. Tsitsipas is no exception and has witnessed some unfortunate incidents on the court. However, his introverted nature often resulted in keeping it to himself.

Talking about his introverted nature, Tsitsipas said, “Whenever I’m about to make a new friend or let that person come close and be more part of my life, I have to make sure things are under control and that I approve of that. Because I don’t want to be letting in random people that want to hurt me and want to be a bad influence in my life. Being introverted, with the opposite gender it took a long time for me to feel comfortable and express my emotions and everything. I did it, I would say, later in my life and [it is] unusual, kind of, for boys.”
Meanwhile, on the tennis court, Tsitsipas will have his work cut out at the ongoing Paris Masters. He has reached the pre-quarterfinals and will take on Francisco Cerundolo next.
