The recent antics of Wimbledon have not pleased Andy Murray, a two-time Wimbledon winner. Despite the fact that he shares Rafael Nadal‘s total of Wimbledon championships, it was disappointing for him to not see himself on a poster for the tournament. However, Murray’s uncle and many of his supporters have criticized the current tribute for leaving Murray out.
Wimbledon hasn’t yet addressed the uproar about the poster, though. But as the tournament draws closer, the British tennis player lambasted the disastrous display and raised questions about tennis players’ positions in the banner.

The 36-year-old British tennis player labeled the controversial poster of past and present Wimbledon greats a disaster. He pointed out the lack of prominent positions for female players. Nevertheless, he himself was absent from the official all-England club artwork that was posted on Wimbledon’s social media account.
However, for the British tennis player, his absence from the poster was not an issue he was concerned about. The former world number one recently made an exit from the Queen’s Club Championship. However, in a press conference after facing defeat by Alex de Minaur in the round of 32, he raised prominent questions on the poster. He said, “It was a disaster, wasn’t it? I don’t need to elaborate any more on it; it’s pretty obvious if you see the poster.”

“That was what was slightly strange. For me, Alcaraz and Sinner are unbelievable players but it just seems strange that they were all sort of behind them,” he added.

Only Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova are among the leading 11 players of the 15 tennis players who are down the stairs, while Venus and Serena Williams are somewhere at the end. He also mentioned how it is undoubtedly not a problem for him that he is not on the poster. However, the Brit’s uncle recently criticized the competition for missing their own country’s tennis talent.

The British tennis player’s uncle, Niall Erskine, criticized the decision-makers for leaving out one of their own British history maker, according to Express UK. Not only that, but he added the comment that the decision-makers need to be embarrassed about it. He said, “All about the men in the forefront and your own British history maker nowhere to be seen. You should be ashamed of yourselves.”

In addition, his mother, Judy Murray, expressed her concern over where the 36-year-old tennis player’s absence on Twitter. It’s not the first time, though, that Wimbledon has overlooked essential players. In such a way, they figuratively abandoned a Brit who managed to win Wimbledon after 77 years.
