Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz are turning on the heat at the United Cup, leading Team USA from the front. The new tennis season is already off to a thrilling start, and these two stars are delivering jaw-dropping performances that have fans buzzing with excitement. But guess what? It’s not just the fans who are blown away. Even their teammate Danielle Collins can’t help but be amazed. 

The American power duo, Gauff and Fritz pulled off a remarkable victory against Croatia to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. The encounter began with Fritz defeating Borna Coric 6-3, 6-2 to take an upper hand. Gauff joined the fray and continued the momentum by whisking out Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2 in the women’s singles, thereby also avenging the Paris Olympics defeat. The duo then joined forces for a mixed-doubles match and depicted their A-game by taking out Petra Marcinko and Ivan Dodig, 6-2, 6-3, showing complete dominance throughout their battle against the Croatian team. And now, Collins is exuding true team spirit and lauding her compatriots over their remarkable success. 

Taking to her Instagram account, the 31-year-old shared a video of the winning moment of Gauff and Fritz in the mixed-doubles category. Captioning the story, she wrote, “These two 😍🙏 🇺🇸,” highlighting her admiration for the star players. Remember, Collins joined Team USA in Perth last week and expressed immense happiness to be back with her team. “I just got here yesterday, so just enjoying hanging out with my girls, Coco and Des. (Desirae Krawczyk) Yeah, haven’t done a whole lot yet. Looking forward to probably doing the escape room later, as long as I don’t fall asleep early,” she said.

Collins further added, “Yeah, I mean, after the Olympics, we just had to get the fam back together. We had a good run there and had a great time with the same crew. It was a no-brainer after talking to everybody about coming back this year and kicking it off here in Perth.” Interestingly, this tournament is also special for Collins for another reason: her comeback after retirement. 

Collins announced that she would hang up her racquets after the 2024 season to grow her family. However, confusion arose when her name appeared in the USA squad for the United Cup 2025. The star player then decided to give clarity and shared, “The DANIMAL story has not reached its conclusion. I will be back on tour in 2025,” in October last year. Collins seems to be in a chill mode and just wishes to give some iconic moments to her fans.

Danielle Collins completely dazzled the courts last year. The star player won two crucial titles, one at Miami and the other at Charleston, in addition to going on a 15-match winning streak. She also put up a spectacular show at Wimbledon, reaching the fourth round, which was her best run at the tournament to date. Now, as he enters the new season, she wishes to continue her momentum. 

Speaking of her plans, Collins revealed, “While there are no guarantees in life, I hope to build on my 2024 momentum and keep playing until there is more certainty around my personal fertility journey. The only guarantee for now will be some more epic matches.”
