Can Danielle Collins outshine the tennis power couple Tsitsipas and Badosa? What do you think?

A movie and a dinner, a trip to the amusement park, bowling, or cooking together – what do these activities have in common? They’re traditionally popular date ideas, of course! But then again, while most couples would choose to go on a picnic or maybe take a long drive for a nice date, athletes do it differently. How lucky then that Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa are both tennis players. There’s no better way to spend a day together than doing what both love, and Danielle Collins wants to invite her non-tennis-playing boyfriend to do the same!

Tsitsidosa took on American duo Ben Shelton and Coco Gauff for the Mixed Madness exhibition match ahead of the US Open two days ago. Entering the fray with players like Nick Kyrgios and Naomi Osaka, and Taylor Fritz and Amanda Anisimova, it was tennis’ power couple that emerged victorious. While Badosa called it the “best date night ever” on her Instagram, the US Open’s official page took caption inspiration from her.

“Can’t beat date night at the US Open and winning the first Mixed Madness,” the post read. And among the top commenters was American star Danielle Collins! “You think we could take them 🎾@sleepykipp 🤣” she wrote. Interestingly, much like his girlfriend, Bryan Kipp was also a college athlete. He reportedly played on Columbia’s Lions football team, as offensive guard guard for the first 3 years and defensive lineman in his senior year, per the university’s official website.

Collins and Kipp met in one of the most unconventional – or rather conventional? – ways, that is at a coffee shop in London. While it’s unclear why Kipp was in the city, Collins was playing Wimbledon, arguably a big deal for any tennis player. But she revealed her excitement at the fact that Kipp was actually unfamiliar with tennis. “He didn’t know anything about tennis, and he didn’t know I was a tennis player, which was really nice,” she said once.

What a contrast to Tsitsidosa! Badosa and Tsitsipas are not the first couple in the same sport and they won’t be the last. After all, their relationship has another dimension of comfort, having someone know the demands of their career inside and out. Or, well, it might actually have worked against them, because the couple broke up a few months ago in May. “When we were great, the relationship was great,” Badosa had said. “Other times, we have our own careers, our own things, and sometimes it’s better to separate ways.”

But to each their own, because Tsitsidosa were back together less than a month later. Just how their system works for them as athletes, Collins and Kipp’s system works for them. In fact, Collins has revealed how her boyfriend has introduced her to another sport, but she still remains the jock in the relationship!

“He’s definitely more of the cerebral one”: Danielle Collins says of her engineer boyfriend!

While Bryan Kipp may have played football in college, his eventual career choice led him to engineering. With an industrial engineering and operations research bachelor’s degree, Collins’ boyfriend is reportedly the senior vice president of technology and licensing at a biotechnology firm called Revvity. Of course, going by traditional standards, Collins has labeled him as the brainy one!

“He was a football player at Columbia. Very smart. Engineer major. So, I’m more kind of like the jock in the relationship, and he’s definitely more of the cerebral one,” she said per PEOPLE. Kipp has also introduced his girlfriend to golf, a sport he liked and followed before meeting Collins. The two sometimes battle it out on the greens, both competetive to the end.

Well, they may not be Tsitsidosa but Collins and Kipp’s story is a reflection of the couple as individuals – some drama, some sugar and spice and everything nice!
