Are Federer's RF sneakers a must-have for tennis fans, or just another marketing gimmick?

Roger Federer may have retired from the tennis courts, but his influence continues to ripple through the world of sports—and beyond. The Swiss Maestro, known not only for his elegant style of play but also for his ventures off the court, remains a beacon of inspiration for players and experts alike. His legacy as a tennis legend is firmly cemented, but his billionaire status and ever-growing business ventures have added another layer to his iconic presence. And it seems Federer’s magic has now reached Brad Gilbert, the former coach of Coco Gauff, who couldn’t hide his excitement over a new addition to his store.

The American coach took to his X on Wednesday evening and shared a couple of pictures from his store, Brad Gilbert Tennis Nation. He highlighted the new signature RF sneakers that have arrived at his store and promoted his store on his account. The excitement of Gilbert was evident in his posts, as he boasted about the new addition.

Taking to X, Gilbert shared a picture of a white sneaker that has ‘ON’ and ‘THE ROGER’ etched over it. Flaunting the same, Gilbert wrote, “Look who is in the house⁦ @TheTennisNation ⁩ the new RF sneakers⁦ @rogerfederer ⁩call the shop 415-453-5399 for more info.” He then shared yet another picture with the shoes in the rack and wrote, “the new RF2 ⁦ @rogerfederer ⁩ is in the house 🏡 ⁦ @TheTennisNation.” Remember, Federer’s association with the brand is not new.

The Swiss Maestro moved on with his partnership with Nike in 2018. He soon partnered with ON in 2019 and owned a 3% share in the company. He was also seen wearing the brand’s shoes during the US Open in the same year and since then; he has been promoting the brand and helping it innovate new and signature styles. Meanwhile, this is not the first time when Brad Gilbert has heaped praises on the tennis legend.

Earlier this year, Federer shared a video of himself on the tennis courts, as he was seen practicing even after his retirement. His effortless backhands and forehands were an absolute bliss to watch as he posted a few glimpses of his hitting sessions on his Instagram story. Gilbert was quick to respond to this and lauded the former player. “Such a great way to get in a hit, at any level. Tremendous seeing Fed play on the wall,” Gilbert wrote on X. But besides his sport and sport-related endeavors, Roger Federer has been an admiration for Gilbert for other reasons as well.

One of the key life lessons that Roger Federer shared was about perfection. He highlighted that it is impossible to be perfect and validated this, by using examples from his professional career. “In the 1,526 singles matches I played in my career, I won almost 80% of those matches.” However, he revealed that if broken this rate into points, he has won just 54% of the points that he has played.

For Gilbert, it will now be interesting to see how his admiration for Federer and if the new addition to his shop helps him in the business and earn some great profits.
