It’s an incredible rise to fame for Coco Gauff! Born in Delray Beach, Florida to parents with an athletic background, her dedication to the game was quite evident right from her young age. Thanks to that dedication and a champion mindset, she has now started to put her name on the history books of not just women’s tennis but the sport as a whole. She recently outshined the likes of ATP stars like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Novak Djokovic in the SportsPro’s 50 Most Marketable Athletes list. But by how much?

Last year, we saw both Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff being named as the two most marketable tennis players in the world. In the 2023 edition, it was for the first time since 2017 and for the second time ever, that there were no tennis players inside the Top 10. The year before that, Serena Williams became the second-most marketable athlete in the world, leaving behind the likes of some of the biggest superstars in the sporting world. Even Roger Federer was also regarded as one of the best when it came to marketing. However, recently, it seems tennis has lost its glorious days a bit.

According to the list of 2024, there isn’t any tennis player inside the Top 10 on SportsPro’s 50 Most Marketable Athletes. However, there is some good news for all the Coco Gauff fans. A total of 8 players have made it on the list of 50 Most Marketable Athletes, and guess what? Coco Gauff leads the pack of tennis players. She is ranked 13th on that list and is followed by Novak Djokovic (18) inside the Top 20. Both these players are followed by Carlos Alcaraz (29), Rafael Nadal (34), Aryna Sabalenka (38), Jannik Sinner (47), Naomi Osaka (48) and Iga Swiatek (50).

Coco Gauff became the world’s highest-paid female athlete in 2023

Last year, according to the list published by Sportico, Coco Gauff earned an estimated $16 million in endorsements only! She won the US Open in 2023, and this emphatic triumph created wonders in her career. Tennis has always been regarded as the sport of the rich people, but unfortunately in the past, there have been instances where we saw female players complaining about lower prize money in comparison to their male counterparts.

However, last time, Coco Gauff reached the top spot on this list by winning an estimated $22.7 million from prize money and endorsements. Apart from her heroics on the court, Gauff has been constantly making some long strides in her off-court pursuits. As of September 2024, her current net worth is estimated to be around $12 million and with the help of her heroics on the court, she has gained the attention of multiple renowned brands. Her current endorsement partners include New Balance (apparel and footwear), Barilla (Italian pasta company), Head (Tennis accessories), Bose (Headphones), Bake Tilly, and a few others.
