The 18 Grand Slam champion, Chris Evert, was hailed as one of the best female athletes in her era. Evert used to dominate on the tennis court as she defeated some of the best female tennis players. However, the former American tennis player once revealed that she had defeated an exceptional male tennis player as well.

Evert once stated that she defeated her compatriot and former tennis player, Andy Roddick. She further said that Roddick was unaware of his defeat against her.

The 18 Grand Slam title winner is quite active on her social media interacting with her friend and fans. As a result, when one of the tennis fans mentioned Serena Williams and Andy Roddick, Evert intervened by reacting to the fan. The fan once stated, “Yeah and Serena defeated Andy Roddick at one point in their lives too…the measure is best versus best”
Evert reacted by stating, “I beat Andy … when he was 14… he probably doesn’t remember, but even then he was charismatic and funny…and… cocky”

Chris Evert defeated the American former World No. 1 men’s tennis player, Andy Roddick when he was a 14-year-old boy. Roddick started his tennis journey in 2000 when he was 18. The former American tennis player won his first Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2003. With his exceptional talent, Roddick reached the No. 1 spot in the ATP rankings in the same year. He further faced one of the greatest tennis players, Roger Federer, in various Grand Slam finals.
Roddick used to dominate his opponents with his fast and ferocious serves on the tennis court. The former US Open champion’s forehand shots were also very powerful. However, Roddick moved away from the tennis court after his retirement in 2012. He was struggling with his injuries and it also forced him to withdraw from various tournaments.

The German tennis legend, Steffi Graf, has broken some of the most impeccable records in her illustrious tennis journey. She managed to win the Golden Slam in 1988 as she won all four Grand Slam titles and also an Olympic title in the same season. Additionally, Graf was the first tennis player to achieve this honorable award.

The former German tennis player’s friend and rival, Evert, paid tribute to her. Evert posted a message on her social media and stated that people don’t give enough credit to her fellow tennis athlete, Graf. The former American tennis player further talked about Graf’s powerful play and her exceptional movement on the tennis court.
