The duo engaged in a joint interview with former WTA star Andrea Petkovic, who did not fail to bring up De Minaur’s engagement to Boulter and gave Alcaraz the opportunity to extend his wishes. But in true fashion, the Spaniard ensured to add a fun twist to it. 

Speaking in the interview, he said, “I mean, I already told him congratulations.” Continuing further, he issued a hilarious warning and added, “I don’t know if you’re sure about it!” However, he was quick to divert the discussion and congratulated the couple, wishing them good luck. “But no, I’ve seen them in the tournaments. I mean, I don’t know Katie very much but it seems that she’s a very nice person so I think you’re going to enjoy this marriage, hopefully everything is going to be good. And yeah, congratulations! As you said, I’m too young to talk,” Alcaraz added. 

Remember, the couple have been together for almost five years now, and took their relationship to another level in December. Sharing their engagement news on December 23, 2024, with an Instagram post, the couple wrote “We’ve Been keeping a small secret,” with Boulter draped in the arm of her beau. Interestingly it is not just Carlos Alcaraz who is making hilarious statements. While it eventually did not turn out this way, Boulter had expressed how difficult it would have been for them to do so. “I don’t know about having a match against him, I think that’s going to be terrible, and a bit of a popcorn match.
