Carlos Alcaraz‘s press conference revolved around several technical and psychological elements of his recent win at Wimbledon. However, when it came to the rumors about him and Emma Raducanu, all he could do was try to hide the grin on his face.

Alcaraz found himself in the midst of the spotlight as he successfully defended his title at Wimbledon, defeating Novak Djokovic in straight sets. This victory came right after his Roland Garros triumph, making him the sixth man in the Open Era to achieve this back-to-back Grand Slam feat. In addition to the victory, the young Spaniard was also offered a garland of sweet rumors revolving around Emma Raducanu.

After the match, reporters asked Alcaraz about the WTA star’s presence in the stands. Smiling and blushing as a reflex action, Alcaraz responded, “I don’t know! I don’t know! I think a lot of people have come to see the final! I think Novak and I always put a good game, a show on the court. I think it was a very nice game to watch. She being from here, I imagine she would like to come to see it. Like if there was a grand slam in Murcia, I would go to see the final 100%, even if I didn’t play. I don’t know if she’s come to see the final, if she’s come to see me.”

Rumors about a possible romance between Alcaraz and Raducanu have been circulating for a while. Earlier this month, the Briton revealed that she finds inspiration in Alcaraz’s performance and skillset. “The last couple matches I’ve been following Carlos, and it’s just good to watch before the match. And sometimes in certain moments you in a way try to emulate certain shots or whatever,” she said.

The presence of Raducanu in the stands and her comments about Alcaraz have fueled the speculations. While there seems to be no acceptance from both ends of the thread, it could possibly be just rumors or the start of an adorable connection within the sport.

Emma Raducanu’s presence at the Wimbledon final came as a huge opportunity for her. Although the Briton currently finds herself surrounded by rumors of budding love with Carlos Alcaraz, she also received an opportunity to meet Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte.

Among all the guests from the tennis community, Raducanu was the first one to meet the royal guests. She shared a picture on social media, posing with the guests. “Honour” the photo was captioned in which Raducanu can be seen shaking hands with Princess Charlotte. Alcaraz also received the opportunity to meet the guests. 

Wimbledon’s official X handle shared a picture in which Alcaraz can be seen greeting the princess in a similar way as Raducanu. “A handshake for the champion from HRH Princess Charlotte,” the post was captioned. It is now time for Alcaraz to go for another celebration. As he now has a bigger reason to pop the cork of champagne, new updates are awaited.
