A Royal encounter on Sunday! The match between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic was no less than a royal battle, not just because of the high stakes but also due to the esteemed guests. Centre Court was buzzing with excitement as Kate Middleton made one of her rare public appearances, donning a stunning purple dress that perfectly marked her presence at the All England Club. But it wasn’t just Catherine, Princess of Wales, who captivated the crowd. Another royal member who stole the spotlight was none other than Princess Charlotte.
Kate Middleton was accompanied by her daughter as they took seats in the front row of the Royal Box on Sunday. As the crowd stood applauding for Kate Middleton, her daughter, Charlotte, was seen beaming with pride. She soon waved a smile at her and was visibly moved by the affection that the crowd demonstrated to her mother. But the 9-year-old continued to keep the spotlight on herself, even after the match was over.
Princess Charlotte was seen engaging in interactions with the tennis fraternity before the match. Emma Raducanu, the British tennis player, was one of the first players to share an image of herself with Charlotte as the two shook hands. Captioning the image on her X profile, Raducanu wrote, “🇬🇧🙏♥️honour.” The little princess also met the winners of the men and women singles, Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejcikova.

Taking to Instagram, Krejcikova posted a picture of herself with Charlotte as the latter can be seen holding a tennis racquet in her hand. Captioning the post, the Czech star expressed her happiness and wrote, “What an honor, Your Royal Highness.”
A similar interaction took place between Alcaraz and the Princess after the Gentlemen’s Final as well. The picture of their meeting was shared on the official X handle of Wimbledon, with the caption, “A handshake for the champion from HRH Princess Charlotte 💜” The young tennis fan was also seen having a good time with her mother in the stands.

The two were seen giggling about something sitting in the stands. Donning a polka-dot blue dress, she was also spotted smiling and talking with other members of the Royal family as well. This is one of the very few appearances that Charlotte and her mother made this year. After the Princess of Wales announced in March that she would be stepping aside from her royal responsibilities after releasing a shocking video about her cancer diagnosis, the chances of Middleton’s appearance at Wimbledon were shaky at best. She returned to her public duties only last month at ‘Trooping the Colour,’ the annual military parade. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton has continued to keep her diagnosis private.
When Kate Middleton revealed “good and bad days” with cancer
Kate Middleton has been undergoing cancer treatment for a couple of months now. However, her illness could not stop the tennis fan within her from making an appearance at the All-England Club. However, the Princess of Wales has been secretive about her illness so far. Before returning to her public duties in June, Kate shared a personal written message that gave some insight into the progress of her treatment.

She revealed, “I am making good progress.” However, she accepted the challenges that the disease has brought to her. “But as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.” Continuing further, the princess shared that her treatment would continue for a few more months. “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.” While her office denied giving any detail about the type and the stage of her cancer, it was reported that her troubles began in February this year.
Although Wimbledon has drawn to a close, the love of the Royal family for the tennis courts seems to be a continuing process. Princess Charlotte’s engagement with the tennis stars has further highlighted that the affection of her family is infinite for the sport.
