Is Jannik Sinner's blunt honesty refreshing or a relationship red flag? What do you think?

Over the past few years, we have seen many adorable relationships grow in the tennis world. The likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, Alex de Minaur, and Katie Boulter are among the examples in this regard. Meanwhile, another unique bond came into the spotlight between Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya earlier this year. While Sinner and Kalinskaya have been at the top of their game on the court, they have maintained it low-key as far as their relationship is concerned. Earlier today, Sinner made a surprising revelation about his relationship with Kalinskaya.

The Italian star is in Turin where he is preparing for the ATP Finals starting tomorrow. Ahead of the tournament, he appeared in an interview where he was asked about what impact Kalinskaya has had on his season. While many expected Sinner to sing the praise of his girlfriend, he rather gave a not-so-politically-correct reply.

Sinner revealed, “I don’t think anything has changed. Having a girlfriend is something that either makes you feel good or makes you feel bad. I want it to be something that feels very natural, which comes into my life normally. I can’t afford to change as a player or as a person. That hasn’t happened, that’s why it works.”

However, this could be because Sinner wants to keep his private life low-key. Even during the announcement of his relationship with Kalinskaya, he admitted to keeping things private, saying, “As you know, I don’t like to talk about my private life. I’m with Anna yes. But we keep everything very private. You know me: I won’t talk more than that.”

Meanwhile, Sinner enters the ATP Finals as a huge contender to win the title. Earlier today, tennis legend, Mats Wilander backed him to come out on the top in Turin.

Last year, Sinner came agonizingly close to winning the ATP Finals crown but fell short against Novak Djokovic in the summit clash. However, it has been the best season of his career for Sinner, and playing on his home turn in Turin will give him the extra motivation to succeed. As a result, Wilander backed him to come out on the top.

He revealed, “Jannik Sinner is the big favorite. I think it has to do with the fact that this year has been unbelievable. He won the two hard court Grand Slams that we had, and he won another five tournaments. Also, it’s back in Italy. If this happened last year, I think there’d be a lot of pressure on him. But he already showed up last year, beating Novak in the Round Robin, and of course, losing in the final. But he made it to the final, and then he won the Davis Cup.”
