Time and again we have seen Navratilova and Evert engaging in Twitter banter. Every time we see one of them getting heat from fans, the other rushes to support. However, this time Evert had enough of this fight and wanted Navratilova to stop. Here’s what happened.

Evert wants Navratilova and Rennae Stubbs to move on

For the last three days, Martina Navratilova and Rennae Stubbs are fighting a tough battle with Novak Djokovic fans on Twitter. The fans who believe Navratilova and Stubbs are running an agenda to defame their favorite tennis star were all over these two.

Meanwhile, Navratilova made a comment on Djokovic’s racket-throwing incident. Many might find it sarcastic as well. Here’s what she wrote.

“Here is what I think happened- Novak knew he couldn’t get to the ball, letting go of his racquet (in jest) he thought it might hit the ball- he was joking around- except it flew too far instead and into the stands. And the umpire has to give the warning. What do you think Rennae?”

Evert, meanwhile, kept an eye on the entire banter and decided to finally ask her friend to end this.

“I’m not @rennaestubbs but I’ve been listening to this whole debacle for 3 days now and I totally agree with your assessment… Can we move on?”

Martina Navratilova’s twitter banter with Djokovic fans is nothing new. There have been multiple occasions when Navratilova made a comment regarding the Serb and his fans were quick to jump in. Earlier this year, a statement from Djokovic regarding his rivalry with Nadal didn’t go well with the 18-time Grand Slam champion.

She objected to the statement that Djokovic made about the duo playing the most against each other in the history of the sport. The record is actually with Navratilova and Evert, who faced off in an incredible 80 matches.
