Novak Djokovic won a record-breaking 24th Grand Slam title yesterday in New York. Now that he has the 2023 US Open title in his hands, he is ready to handle everything in style. Starting with the G.O.A.T. debate and moving on to managing criticism of his performance and those calling for his retirement.
But without even saying a word, he recently took the lead in the race to become tennis’ undisputed G.O.A.T., leaving behind the other tennis stars in the heart of this debate. Recently, after achieving an incredible milestone, the 36-year-old tennis legend has comfortably gone past the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Serena Williams.

As the world’s top-ranked tennis player defeated Daniil Medvedev in the last Grand Slam tournament of the year, he received $3 million for his hard work. Recently, a sports enthusiast took to his Twitter account to share how the Serbian tennis player has broken a record: the highest prize money ever earned on the tennis court.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion, after his fourth US Open victory, became the first tennis player to win $175 million in total prize money earned over his career. But not only did he become the first player, but he also surpassed the other tennis legends of the sport. His other competitor, Rafael Nadal, after winning 22 Grand Slam titles, has $134,640,719 under his name.
On the other hand, Roger Federer, who is still a part of the G.O.A.T. debate even after his retirement, has earned $130,594,339 on the court. Subsequently, now that he has broken Serena Williams’ record by surpassing her Grand Slam record, she is somewhere behind him with $94,816,730.

Now, it is fair to argue that the $175,281,484 prize money has propelled the world’s top-ranked tennis player to sit comfortably ahead of everyone in the G.O.A.T. argument, at least when it comes to financial on-court achievements.
Subsequently, even after breaking records with his prize money and Grand Slam title, there was a time when he also eclipsed the 41-year-old Swiss tennis legend with a victory.

But during the US Open, when Djokovic defeated Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals, he also created an all-time men’s record, breaking the one set by none other than Roger Federer.
Djokovic broke the all-time men’s record with it while getting ready to make his 47th semi-final appearance.
