They both retired last year and maintained a proper work-life balance between tennis and family, even after having children with their respective spouses. Additionally, they believe very similarly about raising children. So much so that there was a moment when they both coincidentally thought the same thing about having a comfy car to drive with their children.
The Swiss master drives and owns many Mercedes-Benz vehicles, along with serving a great relationship with the luxury automaker. Williams, on the other hand, enjoys traveling and has a fantastic relationship with Lincoln Motor Company. Apart from the fact that they both favor cars, there is another significant coincidence that connects them and could be a reason why Williams landed a million-dollar agreement with the same automobile.

Back in 2017, the 23-time Grand Slam champion was ready to embrace motherhood for the first time. The Swiss maestro, who was already a father to four children, shared some parenting advice for Williams. In an interview with For The Win, he shared the suggestion as a father and a Mercedes Benz ambassador, who has done various commercials for the brand.
He said, “We should get her a car. She needs to move to a van now because you’ve got the stroller and everything, so I would suggest a big car.” However, coincidentally, after a year of embracing motherhood, the 41-year-old tennis player made a similar sponsorship deal that unknowingly went with the ATP tennis legend’s suggestion.

In 2018, the Ford-owned luxury automobile company and The Queen of Courts signed a contract. Lincoln is one of the most successful deals that she has ever made. And since then, she is making quite a handful of millions with the deal. Nevertheless, apart from this unexpected coincidence, Williams had her own reason to go for the luxury car brand.

The WTA icon discussed her decision to partner with the automaker in an interview with Sportspro Media. She admitted that she had a deep attachment to this brand. Along with that, she stated that after becoming a mother, the new Navigator has come to seem like a home to her; she answers calls from there, and it resembles her daughter’s room in certain ways.
