Andy Murray reveals practice sessions with Novak Djokovic ahead of the Australian Open 2025

On Tuesday, fans got to see the player-coach dynamic between Murray and Djoker. The two were spotted at the Margaret Court Arena. There, the 10-time AO winner and tennis GOAT engaged in a practice match with Carlos Alcaraz. Djokovic won this brief match with a score of 7-5. On the other hand, coach Murray was standing on the side of the court, observing his strokes and overall movement.

Last November, following his split with longtime coach Goran Ivanivevic, Djokovic shocked everyone while confirming Murray as his trainer. “I’m excited to have one of my greatest rivals in my team, on the same side of the net, this time as my coach. I’m looking forward to starting the season together with Andy and having him by my side in Melbourne, where we’ve shared many extraordinary moments throughout our careers,” he revealed through his official website, on November 23.

Echoing Novak Djokovic‘s sentiment, Murray, who’s a five-time AO finalist himself, stated “I’m really excited about it and I am looking forward to being on the same side of the net for a change. I’m also grateful for the opportunity to help him achieve his goals”

Last week, Djokovic had to bow out of the first ATP event of his this season at the Brisbane International. In the QF round of the tournament, 171-ranked American Reilly Opelka beat him 7-6(6), 6-3. But given his reputation, one can never never write Djokovic off, especially going into the Australian Open. Do you think he will bounce back in style and clinch his 25th Grand Slam trophy this time?
