Recently, after making it to the semifinal round of the Indian Wells tournament, during a post-match press conference, he was asked about what Alcaraz and Sinner’s rivalry would look like down the road. While he stated his choice quite clearly, it also indicated that he believed that the rivalry would end. Just the way, Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova’s rivalry ended, carrying an equal number of Grand Slams.
He said, “Slams, yeah, that’s what I thought. Oh, tough. Bold guess. At the moment you want to say Sinner, right? But Carlos is super strong also. You know what, let’s put it this way, Carlos and Sinner with same number of slams in ten years. Then at the end of their career, I don’t know (smiling).”
On the other hand, the Grand Slam champion himself highlighted how both of them are doing well in the tennis arena. But at the same time, he also predicted that both of them might have the same number of Slams in the next 10 years, leaving the end of their career predictions all null and void.
In a similar context, Evert and Navratilova, both of them and their careers, have 18 Grand Slam titles under their names even after giving each other tough competition throughout their tennis careers. However, the Italian tennis player himself opened up about the rivalry as his fortune turned upside down.

Sinner’s positive approach to his rivalry against Alcaraz
Jannik Sinner, who is currently ranked seventh in the world, never gives up on the tennis court. He easily defeated Carlos Alcaraz, proving his abilities and earning a spot in the China Open finals. But when asked about his rivalry with the Spanish player at a post-match press conference, Sinner adopted a modest tone, saying he doesn’t keep track of stuff like that.
He said, “We tried to push ourselves to the limit, and I think we got it again today, the level was very high,” Rather, he highlighted how happy he was to have the chance to challenge himself. Sinner seems to be thinking about the difficulties that lie ahead, even if his path to the finals was uneventful. This implies that he is already looking forward to and maybe even worrying about his next encounter.
