18-year-old Emma Raducanu shocked the entire world after becoming the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam in the history of tennis. She won the US Open 2021 title and interestingly, didn’t drop a single set there.
However, since then, Raducanu has not played some really great tennis. She suffered a first-round exit at the Indian Wells 2021 and then failed to reach beyond the quarter-finals at the Transylvania Open 2021.

Andy Murray’s mother backs Emma Raducanu after Eddie Jones’ remarks
Recently, England Rugby Union’s head coach, Eddie Jones talked exclusively about Raducanu. He criticized her by commenting that the British girl didn’t succeed after her US Open 2021 victory because of too many distractions.
However, reacting to these comments, TV presenter, Gabby Lagon, tweeted in Raducanu’s favour. She wrote, “Unbelievably unfair and not even remotely comparable. She is 18 in her first six months of being pro and she made the second week of Wimbledon and won the US Open having never played on the tour. Imagine an 18-year-old rugby player winning a World Cup having never played a club game.”
Even Andy Murray’s mother, Judy Murray, came in support of Raducanu and hit out at the Rugby coach. She replied to Lagon’s message and tweeted, “Beautifully put Gabby.”
