Novak Djokovic didn’t put on an amazing season in 2024 by his usual standards. He failed to win a Grand Slam title for the first time since 2017. However, he did manage to win his first Olympic gold medal in Paris. Djokovic is currently pursuing his 25th Grand Slam title and to help him in the process, he has recently also brought in Andy Murray in his team. Serena Williams’ childhood coach, Rick Macci, has always been a big admirer of the Serb. Previously he said, “If he (Nole) wins One More Grand Slam in 2025 at his age, the Serbian Goat will change the meaning of rare air to the rarest of air.” How can Murray help Djokovic reach his targets? Well, Macci has a say on this!

On November 23, Novak Djokovic made this surprising announcement of bringing Andy Murray to his team as the new coach. A day later, we saw Rick Macci coming up with a tweet saying, “Was asked if Andy Murray coaching the Joker will make a difference in his game next year. A different voice is always good. A different set of eyes is always good. But who can help him the most is Mr. MIRROR. @DjokerNole.” Now, with just a few days left before we kick-start the season, Serena Williams’ ex-coach yet again shared his thoughts on this new partnership.

What did he say this time though? Well, in a recent tweet, Rick Macci opened up about how Andy Murray could contribute to his team and help Novak Djokovic chase more records. “Was asked how much of a difference Andy Murray will make with the Joker. If he helps even 5% in any area that is the difference in winning and losing a Grand Slam and that is the only Item on the Serbian Snipers menu. @DjokerNole.” What do other tennis experts think about this partnership, though?

Tim Henman initially expressed his surprise with this move from Novak Djokovic. However, he later on claimed that he thinks it’s quite a “smart move” from the Serb. But what did both Djokovic and Murray say on this partnership?
